open call for chapbook submissions!

APPLICATIONS OPEN OCTOBER 23. Any work sent before that date will unfortunately not be considered.

jagged edge is seeking chapbook length manuscripts of poetry, creative nonfiction, or hybrid work. We are seeking work that pushes the limits of genre and form and challenges readers to think expansively. Please see our magazine and other chapbook/zine publications for an idea of our vibe. Authors will receive 15 copies of their published book and will retain publication rights. 

Individual pieces may have been previously published but the manuscript as a whole should be unpublished. Please include an acknowledgements page of any previous publications in which poems in the manuscript have appeared. 

Please send between 15 and 25 pages of poetry or prose, 12 pt font, typed, to hello@jaggededge.org, with the subject line “Chapbook Submission”. One manuscript per author. Simultaneous submissions are not considered. File should be as an attachment in .pdf or .docx format. In the body of the email, include a cover letter with a brief bio. The cover letter and bulk of the manuscript must be in English.

Six manuscripts will be accepted for publication. Of these, four will be writers living in the Midwest, and one of these four will be a writer from northeast Ohio. The remaining two will not be limited by region. Please indicate in your cover letter if you are from the Midwest and/or northeast Ohio. 

Applications open October 23rd and close November 23rd. Any manuscripts received outside of these dates will not be considered.
