One Poem by Kimberly Lambright

Why Are We On The Floor Though

Center of my life
Crew of my craw
How to write a poem for the post-literate
Just make guttural sounds like the playground

There’s no God but someone
has been eliminating my enemies
for a few years now

It’s a good feeling to be still here
The calm after the storm
is my death stare at 3am
to myself
as I sleep

Sleeping is the absence of a hurtful party
When I talk to God
I don’t make him explain anything
This is sainthood,
I’ve moved beyond situations,
those containers screaming
